The Abeille Bourbon

The Abeille Bourbon is an emergency towing vessel or tugboat. She operates on the high seas and is 80 metres long with a towing capacity of 200 tonnes of force. It has a crew of 12 and was designed by the Norwegian naval architect Sigmund Borgundv g. The ship was christened by Bernadette Chirac in April 2005 in the presence of godfather Jacques de Chateauvieux. The Abeille Bourbon belongs to Abeilles International and is a unit of the Bourbon Group, which is chartered by the French government. The Abeille Bourbon is a sister ship of the Abeille Libert . Tugboats are traditionally named for their activities around the ships they assist.
